I am having such fun creating One-Of-A-Kind Jackets from chenille, Matelasse, Martha Washington, hand-embroidered linens and hand-crocheted pieces! I have wanted to have the time to focus on this for a very long while. Each Jacket is a unique piece of wearable art. Although I use the same basic pattern time and again, each one is different according to the placement of the pattern and the type of appliques and other elements that I add. The process begins with the preperation of the vintage or recycled fabric. After the piece is assessed, it is washed and stains are treated to maximize the useable area of the fabric. All of the embellishments are treated to the same careful scrutiny. I have spent many years collecting the doilies, tablecloths and other elements that I add to the garments. The fabric is then cut with an eye to the placement of the underlying pattern, even though it is often subdued in the final stages. Each pattern was painstakingly drafted by me, these are not ready-made patterns. Each piece of the garment is cut individually, one layer at a time, a necessity when dealing with vintage fabrics. I make sizes XS(about 2-4), S(6-8), M(10-12), and L(14-16). If you need something specific, or different, please contact me.
