Our Chenille Window Valances are made from several different textures of new and vintage chenilles. Each one is a delight to the eyes. We adore making them with colored pom pom fringe, but we also use a delicate scalloped edge, available in several color, and white piping on occasion. We like them to be double the width of the curtain rod and its extentions. If you use one of the wider European rods, the extension can be as much as 6" per side. The pocket for the rod can be wide enough to accomodate a rod of this type, or it can be narrower so there is a small ruffle at the top edge. The choice is yours. Most of our Window Valances are made in 15" increments. For a more tailored look, we suggest our Martha Washington fabric with a piped edge made to fit the rod with no gathering occuring, just one long swath of fabric. This makes a very nice addition to a little boy's room or for a more formal setting.
